Collections
The collections at the Aga Khan Library support research and teaching activities at The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) and The Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC).
Our collections include more than 54,000 modern print titles, thousands of electronic publications, and more than 5,000 rare books. We also house archives, photographs, maps and artworks produced all over the Muslim world over a period of more than five centuries.
These materials explore Ismailism, Shia Islam, Quranic literature and other essential topics of Islamic studies. They also cover the AKU-ISMC’s key research interests: the historical and current development of Muslim civilisations and their cultural production, and the situation of Muslim diasporas around the world.
We constantly work to increase our collection based on the needs of our members. To recommend we purchase a particular title for our collections, please follow the link below and complete our purchase form.
